The IDFC FIRST Technology Code-a-thon Challenge is a two-stage assessment designed to evaluate the technical skills and problem-solving capabilities of candidates through real-time coding tasks and real-world use cases.
Candidates who clear the challenge successfully will progress to final interviews and may secure a full-time role with one of India’s fastest-growing digital banks.
Who Can Participate?
- Final-year B.E./B.Tech students in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Graduates with up to 2 years of experience
- Candidates under 26 years of age
- Minimum 55% in Class X and XII
- No immediate blood relatives employed at IDFC FIRST Bank
- Must have no criminal background

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to build and enhance applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Debug and test software based on project needs.
- Stay updated with industry technologies and best practices.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, etc.)
- Understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and OOPS concepts
- Familiarity with Databases and Version Control (Git)
- Additional knowledge in Cloud, DevOps, Front-end/Back-end Frameworks is a plus
Structure of the Challenge
Stage 1 – Online Coding Assessment
- Individual participation
- Time-based coding test focusing on algorithms and logical thinking
- Top performers advance to Stage 2
Stage 2 – Technical Interviews
- Shortlisted candidates will attend face-to-face interviews at one of the four locations.
- Candidates can choose from the available dates:

Assessment Details
- Date: Sunday, 27th July 2025
- Format:
- Aptitude Section – 20 minutes
- Coding Questions – 60 minutes
- Slot Options:
- Morning: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Evening: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Note: Questions will be unique for each slot and cannot be retaken. Limited second attempts may be allowed on Monday evening under special circumstances.
Important Guidelines
- Use of mobile phones during the assessment is strictly prohibited.
- The test must be taken on a laptop or desktop only.
- Plagiarism, cheating, or external assistance will lead to immediate disqualification.
- AI-based proctoring tools will monitor all activity including audio, video, and behavior tracking during the assessment.
