Job Description
Citi is looking for candidates to join its Technology team as an Applications Development Programmer Analyst. The position is an entry-level opportunity focused on application systems analysis, programming, testing, debugging, and software development.
In this role, candidates will work with different technology areas and contribute to system enhancements and application development activities. The position also provides an opportunity to develop practical knowledge of Citi’s information systems, application development procedures, databases, network operations, and other technology platforms.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of Java and J2EE technologies.
- Good understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of Angular, JSP, Servlets, and JDBC.
- Familiarity with Struts and Spring frameworks.
- Understanding of Microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- Knowledge of exception handling and Java collections.
- Understanding of multithreading concepts.
- Knowledge of HTTP sessions and session handling.
- Understanding of Servlet and JSP lifecycle.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases and SQL scripting.
- Basic understanding of database design and performance tuning.
- Awareness of JUnit or TestNG testing frameworks.
- Awareness of application and web servers.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Lightspeed, or Harness is an advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Contribute to application development activities in coordination with the Technology team.
- Identify and define system enhancements based on business requirements.
- Develop basic code and perform application testing and debugging.
- Use scripting tools to support development and testing activities.
- Analyze different technical options when standard procedures do not cover a particular situation.
- Develop knowledge of Citi’s information systems and technology procedures.
- Work with client-server application development technologies.
- Support database and systems administration activities when required.
- Participate in application development and enhancement projects.
- Follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assess technology and business risks while working on assigned projects.
- Collaborate with team members and other technology professionals.
- Support new or junior analysts by sharing technical knowledge when required.
