Job Description
HPE is looking for an entry-level Software Systems Engineer-DevOps to join its Datacenter Networking team in Bengaluru. The role is designed for candidates who have a strong interest in software development, cloud-native technologies, distributed systems, and automation.
As part of the team, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for new products and enhancements under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will contribute to well-defined product features and gradually take ownership of larger software components as you gain experience.
The role also provides opportunities to work with modern technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, REST APIs, observability tools, and AI-based development tools.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or a related field.
- 0–2 years of hands-on experience, including internships, academic projects, or co-op experience.
- Programming knowledge in Python, Golang, Java, C, or C++.
- Basic understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native software development.
- Knowledge of microservices and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
- Exposure to KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or VMware.
- Familiarity with infrastructure technologies such as Cassandra, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Docker, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Understanding of software testing, observability, and debugging.
- Exposure to Ansible, Helm, or Terraform is beneficial.
- Ability to write automated test cases and understand CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of REST or gRPC-based APIs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and development tools.
- Ability to collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI/ML and AI Agentic frameworks such as LangChain and FastAPI.
- Exposure to AIOps or MLOps tools such as SageMaker, Databricks, Vertex AI, Azure ML, or MLFlow.
- Knowledge of Cloud Native GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Argo Workflows.
- Participation in hackathons or technical communities.
- Open-source contributions or academic publications.
- Professional organization involvement such as IEEE.
