Job Description

Huron is looking for an entry-level Analytics Engineer – Analyst to support its Data & Analytics team. The role involves working across data engineering, business intelligence, data modeling, reporting, and analytics delivery.

As part of the team, candidates will participate in different stages of the analytics lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data analysis, data preparation, report development, testing, documentation, deployment support, and production issue resolution.

The selected candidate will help build and maintain data pipelines, datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reports that support data-driven decision-making across Huron. The role also involves data validation, quality assurance, documentation, and collaboration with teams across India and the United States.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, reporting, software development, or related project work.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, joins, data models, and reporting concepts.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data preparation.
  • Basic knowledge or coursework in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Exposure to Power BI reports, dashboards, data visualization, and semantic modeling.
  • Basic understanding of DAX is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with data warehouses, data lakes, or Lakehouse platforms.
  • Exposure to platforms such as Azure Data Factory, AWS S3, AWS Glue, Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to validate data carefully.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, developing, testing, and supporting Data & Analytics solutions.
  • Work on data pipelines, data models, datasets, dashboards, and reports.
  • Support ETL/ELT activities including data extraction, transformation, loading, mapping, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Write and maintain basic to intermediate SQL queries.
  • Develop Python scripts for data preparation, automation, validation, and reporting.
  • Support the development of Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Assist in creating Power BI semantic models using source tables, relationships, joins, measures, and dimensions.
  • Work with data from cloud platforms, databases, and Databricks.
  • Participate in requirements discussions with project teams and business stakeholders.
  • Document reporting requirements, data definitions, assumptions, and open questions.
  • Support unit testing, report validation, data comparison, UAT, and defect resolution.
  • Troubleshoot basic data refresh, visualization, access, data quality, and report performance issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, data mappings, report logic, test evidence, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore team members across different time zones.
  • Participate in team meetings, sprint ceremonies, status updates, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Follow company procedures when handling confidential and client data.
  • Contribute to reusable solutions and processes that improve reporting quality and operational efficiency.
