Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with security engineers and threat researchers to analyze network-based attacks and create detection logic.
- Perform packet-level analysis using PCAPs and tools such as Wireshark or Zeek.
- Assist in developing and testing detection signatures for Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS).
- Contribute to building internal tools and automation workflows using Python.
- Conduct OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) research for emerging threats, IoCs, and attack techniques.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation, threat reports, and security playbooks.
- Participate in technical discussions during all stages of the research and detection lifecycle.
- Help simulate attack scenarios to test and validate detection capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Final year or recent graduate (2024/2025 batch) with a degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or Cyber Security.
- Strong knowledge of Computer Networking, TCP/IP Protocols, and OSI Model.
- Familiarity with IDS/IPS systems, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Programming skills in Python with the ability to automate analysis tasks.
- Comfortable with Linux and Windows environments.
- Knowledge of tools such as Wireshark, Suricata, Snort, tcpdump is an added advantage.
- Coursework or projects in Network Security, Packet Analysis, or Cybersecurity are desirable.
- Strong research ability, problem-solving mindset, and effective communication skills.
