Job Description
KPMG’s Actuarial Services team provides actuarial support to multiple KPMG member firms, including KPMG UK and KPMG US. The team works across a wide range of actuarial assignments involving advisory and audit services, insurance analytics, regulatory changes, and technology-driven actuarial solutions.
As an Analyst, you will become a core member of the actuarial team and contribute to various projects involving general insurance, claims analysis, loss reserving, actuarial audits, pricing models, regulatory requirements, and client support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate or postgraduate degree with a strong background in Mathematics and Statistics.
- 0–1 years of experience in the insurance business and finance.
- Candidates with relevant actuarial examination progress are eligible.
- Must have passed at least 4 actuarial exams from IFoA UK, SOA/CAS US, or IAI India.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good understanding of insurance and financial concepts.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness to learn actuarial tools, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze historical claims data to identify trends, issues, and potential risks.
- Document analysis findings and prepare appropriate commentary.
- Develop MS Excel-based actuarial tools.
- Apply triangulation methods to estimate outstanding loss reserves for insurance and reinsurance companies.
- Support Statement of Actuarial Opinions (SAO) and actuarial audits.
- Review data, methodologies, assumptions, and actuarial results.
- Benchmark results against relevant market information.
- Reconcile previous-year results and compare them with client results.
- Review non-life pricing models and perform bespoke modeling activities.
- Assist with Solvency II technical provisions and Economic Balance Sheet reviews.
- Validate consistency across regulatory submissions.
- Support clients in understanding and implementing regulations such as Solvency II and IFRS.
- Provide transaction and due diligence support.
- Assist with actuarial system transformation projects.
- Support actuarial reviews of economic capital requirements.
- Prepare summary reports and commentary based on findings.
- Assist senior team members with day-to-day management activities and MI reporting.
- Participate actively in engagement team meetings.
- Communicate with engagement managers, directors, and partners of the onshore team.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and discuss solutions to potential issues.
