Job Description

Turing is looking for skilled Data Scientists and Analysts with strong Python and data analysis capabilities to join its team working on advanced artificial intelligence projects. Candidates will work with companies and research teams in the United States to develop cutting-edge commercial and research AI solutions.

The role involves writing high-quality Python code, analyzing datasets, identifying valuable insights, evaluating AI model performance, fixing code issues, and preparing detailed technical documentation. Candidates will also collaborate with researchers and other stakeholders to improve AI systems and communicate their findings clearly.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, high-quality code for training and optimizing AI models.
  • Conduct AI model evaluations and analyze results to support continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and rank AI model responses across different domains.
  • Develop detailed explanations and rationales for model evaluations.
  • Support Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) initiatives by creating and maintaining high-quality datasets.
  • Collaborate with researchers and annotators on Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF).
  • Help refine reward models and AI training processes.
  • Design evaluation strategies to improve AI model performance and alignment.
  • Create and refine responses to improve AI model quality, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Review code and technical documentation and provide constructive feedback.
  • Analyze public datasets from sources such as Kaggle, the United Nations, and the US government.
  • Identify important insights from available datasets and communicate key findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on AI and product improvement initiatives.
  • Explore and implement new tools, techniques, and methodologies for AI training.

Work Details

Turing offers a fully remote working environment where candidates can contribute to cutting-edge AI projects. The engagement requires a minimum commitment of 4 hours per day and at least 20 hours per week, with a required 4-hour overlap with PST.

Candidates can choose from three weekly commitment options:

  • 20 hours per week
  • 30 hours per week
  • 40 hours per week

The engagement is offered as a contractor assignment and does not include medical or paid leave. The initial contract duration is 1 month, with the expected start date mentioned as the following week.

Evaluation Process

The selection process is expected to take approximately 75 minutes and includes:

  • 60-minute technical interview.
  • 15-minute cultural and offer discussion.
