About the Role

As a Business Development Intern at Heizen, you will work closely with the leadership team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, build relationships with potential clients, and support growth initiatives. You’ll gain hands-on experience in B2B sales, market research, and strategic partnerships while learning about the enterprise software development market in a high-growth startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential clients, partners, and market opportunities in software development.
- Support lead generation through LinkedIn, industry events, referrals, and cold outreach.
- Assist in creating business proposals, pitch decks, and sales materials.
- Conduct initial outreach calls and meetings with prospective clients.
- Collaborate with the founding team on go-to-market strategies and business development processes.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of prospects, opportunities, and BD activities.
- Support market analysis, competitive intelligence, and BD campaign execution.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates currently pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field can apply. Prior internship or project experience in sales, marketing, or business development is preferred but not mandatory, along with a genuine curiosity about the software development and AI/technology industry.
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving approach to business challenges.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace and willingness to learn CRM tools.
- Basic understanding of B2B sales processes and business development concepts.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
Recommended Certifications & Skills to Stand Out
For business development and B2B sales internships in general, candidates commonly strengthen their applications with HubSpot’s free Inbound Sales or Sales Software certifications, along with basic familiarity with a CRM tool like HubSpot or Salesforce. Since outreach on LinkedIn is central to this role, building an active, well-optimized LinkedIn profile and practicing structured cold outreach messaging can help candidates demonstrate readiness. A foundational understanding of the SaaS or enterprise software industry, gained through reading platforms like SaaStr or TechCrunch, is also broadly useful for BD-focused roles in the tech space.
Salary & Benefits
Heizen offers a stipend of ₹10,000–15,000 per month plus a performance bonus tied to lead generation and revenue contribution, along with a learning and development budget, remote work culture with flexible hours, and direct mentorship from founders and senior leadership.
Career Growth Opportunities
High-performing interns have the potential for full-time conversion, with pathways into roles such as Business Development Executive, Partnerships Associate, or Growth Manager as Heizen continues to scale.
