Job Description

Salesforce is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Technical Support Engineer – Proactive Monitoring to join its Technical Support Engineering team.

In this role, you will help maintain platform health by proactively identifying, analyzing, and addressing potential issues before they affect customers. The position involves monitoring dashboards, analyzing alerts and system metrics, investigating incidents, communicating with customers, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams.

The Proactive Monitoring team operates 24x7x365, so candidates must be flexible to work across APAC, EMEA, and AMER shifts. The role may also require working on weekends and holidays depending on business requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6–24 months of experience in technical support, IT operations, systems monitoring, or a related role.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and SaaS platforms.
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, DNS, and SSL/TLS.
  • Basic understanding of monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and log analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-first approach and genuine interest in customer success.
  • Hands-on Salesforce Administration experience, including user management, profiles, roles, permission sets, flows, and validation rules.
  • Basic understanding of Sales Cloud or Service Cloud configuration.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce development fundamentals such as Apex, triggers, classes, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and SOSL.
  • Understanding of the Salesforce data model and deployment processes such as Change Sets or Salesforce DX.
  • Ability to read and interpret Salesforce debug logs, error messages, and system exceptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce Platform.
  • Experience with CRM platforms.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, or Dynatrace.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks and incident management practices.
  • Salesforce Administrator or Developer certification is an advantage.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor Salesforce platform health dashboards, alerts, and telemetry signals.
  • Identify anomalies and potential issues before they become customer-impacting incidents.
  • Analyze monitoring alerts, logs, and system metrics to investigate technical problems.
  • Perform initial incident detection, triage, and root-cause analysis.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate engineering or operations teams.
  • Proactively communicate with customers affected by identified issues.
  • Provide timely communication and resolution guidance to minimize customer disruption.
  • Create, manage, and resolve technical support cases.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of investigations, actions, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Technical Support teams.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures, known issues, and best practices.
  • Use monitoring tools, dashboards, and scripting to improve alert management.
  • Identify recurring patterns and systemic issues through monitoring data.
  • Provide insights to engineering teams to support long-term fixes and continuous improvement.
