About the Role

Cognizant Consulting Analyst Recruitment

As a Consulting Analyst, you will deliver consulting analyses for property and casualty insurance clients, clarifying current challenges across underwriting, rating, policy servicing, billing, and claims, and presenting practical improvement paths that enhance operational efficiency and loss ratio performance. You will drive discovery sessions with stakeholders, develop data-driven insights from premium, exposure, and claims data, and support solution implementation across insurance platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consulting analyses across underwriting, rating, policy servicing, billing, and claims for P&C clients.
  • Drive discovery sessions to elicit requirements and translate them into structured deliverables and solution backlogs.
  • Develop data-driven insights using premium, exposure, claims, and risk data to identify trends and bottlenecks.
  • Prepare client-ready process maps, operating model views, impact assessments, and business cases.
  • Coordinate solution design workshops connecting business requirements with policy admin, claims, and rating platforms.
  • Support implementation by defining user stories and coordinating user acceptance testing.
  • Create and maintain reusable knowledge assets including templates, estimation models, and best-practice playbooks.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need at least three years of experience working in property and casualty insurance environments such as underwriting, policy administration, claims, reinsurance, or product configuration. Strong analytical ability to interpret premium, exposure, and claims data is required, along with working knowledge of at least one major P&C platform and familiarity with business analysis practices.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in P&C insurance (underwriting, claims, policy administration, or reinsurance).
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret operational and claims data sets.
  • Working knowledge of a major P&C platform or related ecosystem tooling.
  • Structured communication, hypothesis-driven analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in P&C insurance.
  • Business analysis practices including requirement elicitation and process modeling.

Recommended Certifications & Skills to Stand Out

For P&C insurance consulting roles in general, candidates commonly strengthen their applications with industry certifications such as the AINS (Associate in General Insurance) or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designations from The Institutes, which are widely recognized in the P&C domain. A Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar business analysis certification can add credibility for the consulting side of the role. Hands-on familiarity with core insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar) and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills for client-ready deliverables are broadly valuable, directly applicable skills for this kind of consulting analyst position.
