Hitachi Energy Associate Project Engineer Job Description
Hitachi Energy is looking for an Associate Project Engineer – Cyber Security to support projects involving mission-critical telecommunications and cybersecurity solutions.
The selected candidate will work on adapting cybersecurity solutions for SCADA and HMI systems, developing architecture and functional descriptions for future HVDC cybersecurity solutions, and supporting cybersecurity functions across projects.
The role will involve working with different stakeholders, performing security testing, resolving cybersecurity-related issues, strengthening SCADA network security, and ensuring that applicable security standards and internal procedures are followed.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support global projects involving HVDC cybersecurity for SCADA and HMI systems.
- Develop architecture and functional descriptions for cybersecurity functions and solutions.
- Prepare and perform cybersecurity test-case scenarios.
- Participate in FST activities and support project teams in resolving cybersecurity issues.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across different business units.
- Design and develop secured network architectures for SCADA systems.
- Evaluate and strengthen security for connections to SCADA networks.
- Monitor and validate third-party security patches.
- Implement security features provided by device and system vendors.
- Establish controls over different access methods into SCADA networks.
- Implement internal and external intrusion detection systems.
- Perform technical audits of SCADA devices and networks.
- Identify and document potential cybersecurity concerns.
- Conduct physical security surveys of remote sites connected to SCADA networks.
- Maintain test environments with updated software and hardware.
- Handle server and workstation backups and imaging.
- Support patch management activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, ECE, or EEE.

- Knowledge of security and Anti-Virus technologies.
- Basic understanding of IEEE and IEC standards.
