Job Description
The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L1) will provide managed services and technical support to ensure client IT infrastructure remains operational. The role involves monitoring client systems, investigating technical incidents, resolving first-level issues, and following established ITSM processes.
The selected candidates will also work on ticket management, maintenance activities, incident resolution, and continuous service improvement.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor client infrastructure and identify technical issues.
- Investigate and resolve first-level network incidents.
- Handle ITSM tickets and service requests.
- Follow defined SOPs and knowledge articles to resolve incidents.
- Perform basic maintenance, configuration changes, and patching activities.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical teams.
- Maintain proper documentation and update knowledge articles.
- Support shift handovers to ensure continuous service.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Support project activities and disaster recovery functions when required.
- Maintain high standards of client service and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computing, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of networking technologies.
- Knowledge of Pulse Secure SSL VPN.
- Familiarity with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls.
- Basic knowledge of Cisco Nexus switches, ASR/ISR routers, Cisco ACS, ISE, and Meraki switches.
- Understanding of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Good understanding of ITSM tools and processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
- Client-focused approach and willingness to work in a team.
